The route

The start is on Saturday in San Gil, with a very steep climb to the southeast to reach the high ground on the left bank of the canyon. The first hours run through nature reserves and old cobbled paths in Mogotes and Curití. You pass the Palocortado sports ground (km 17.5), Pitiguao main square (km 33.7), the K45 summit, the race's high point at 2,150 m, and Curití main square (km 54.1), where your first drop bag is waiting.

The route continues through Las Vueltas and Morros to Aratoca main square (km 85.7). You then pass the Picacho de Aratoca and descend the canyon's central spine to Panachi (km 104.6); after a technical descent you enter the lowest, hottest part of the race and reach Jordán (km 120.5), on the riverbank, home of your second drop bag.

From Jordán you run the marathon course: the royal road climb, El Punto, Villanueva, the Tierra Negra trail, Barichara, the Carigua summit (km 153.5) and the long final descent to the finish in San Gil. Between 24 and 49 hours of effort, one or two nights in a row, high temperatures and rugged, unforgettable scenery: a challenge and a dream for any runner. About 70% of the course was renewed in 2025, bringing back some sections from the previous decade; any adjustment is announced to registered runners through the official channels.

  • Cut-off: the latest time you may leave each checkpoint. If you leave later, you are out of the race under the rules. The organization may adjust cut-offs for safety reasons or unforeseen events.
  • Cut-offs marked ≈ are approximate and meant to help you plan your pace.
  • There are no disposable cups at the aid stations: drinks are served only in your personal cup.

Good to know

Start date and place

Saturday 5 June 2027, 8:00 a.m., at El Puente Shopping Center, San Gil.

The finish is at the same place and the time limit is 49 hours, until 9:00 a.m. on Monday 7 June. Times and route may be adjusted for safety; any change is announced through the race's official channels.

Requirements and documents

You can register now and meet the requirements later, within the deadline published in the Runner's Guide:

  • Be 18 or older.
  • Have finished a trail race of at least 70 km in recent years and show your finisher certificate. Training sessions covering at least 70 km are also accepted, as long as the record shows distance, time and date.
  • Provide a medical certificate no more than three months old, stating that you are in optimal physical condition for a high-performance event. It's a general check-up by your own doctor: there is no specific form.
  • Upload a copy of your ID, the signed liability waiver, the medical certificate and the finisher certificate through the Runner's Guide form.
Bib pick-up and drop bags

Friday 4 June 2027, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at El Puente Shopping Center, near San Gil's main square.

To collect your bib you must show all of your mandatory gear and have your documents uploaded through the form in the Runner's Guide. That same day, before 6:00 p.m., hand in your two drop bags, labeled for the Curití and Jordán checkpoints.

Age groups

Awarded with medals:

  • Women: a single category, given the number of women entrants in this distance.
  • Men: up to 39 · 40 to 49 · 50 and over.

Your age is the one you will be on 31 December 2027.

Pairs category

If you'd rather not run alone, or simply want a different experience, sign up for the pairs category: two people, any age or gender, in a single 100-mile pairs category.

  • Each member meets the requirements for the distance and carries their own mandatory gear.
  • You start together and must stay together for the whole route. The team's time at every checkpoint and at the finish is that of the second runner to cross.
  • You may help each other: a push, a pull or carrying part of the load.
  • If one runner drops out, the partner must stay with them to the next checkpoint or until the organization evacuates them. A runner who continues alone, with the checkpoint judge's authorization, receives a finisher medal but no official time or ranking.
  • Any penalty given to one member applies to the team.
  • Awards: medals for the first three pairs and sponsor prizes in kind, subject to availability. There is no prize money, and pairs runners are ranked only in this category.

On the registration platform choose the 100 millas parejas (pairs) ticket and register both runners at the same time.

Awards

Cash prizes and sponsor awards go to the top three overall women and men. Age groups are awarded medals. See the details on the awards page. The pairs category is not eligible for prize money.

Live tracking

Your family can follow your race on the live results platform, which shows the checkpoints you have passed. The organization only gives official information at the start and the finish, and not by phone. Find the links on the results page.

Registration and fee

The regular reference fee for the 2026 edition was COP 902,000. The registration platform always shows the current fee.

See registration stages, discounts and conditions on the registration page.
