Latin American Trail Circuit 2024

The Latin American Trail Circuit returns with nine races in nine countries. In 2024, Chicamocha’s HOKA Marathon was the qualifying distance.

The Latin American Trail Circuit is back in 2024. Launched as a pilot in 2023, it returns bigger and with plenty of new features.

The circuit was created to build a strong bloc among the region's trail races, positioning us as an attractive destination for runners from the continent and for the sport's most important markets worldwide.

In 2023 it included five countries (Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Peru) with well-established races such as Cerro Rojo, Chicamocha and Andes Race. In 2024 the circuit grows to include races in Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

These partnerships between races in the region increase the exchange of runners between our countries and promote sports tourism. We are excited to continue this project, because we need Latin American runners to look to our own races, so we can grow as events and organizations while always pursuing excellence.

How does it work?

Each race in the circuit chooses a distance between 25 and 45 km as its qualifying distance. The circuit starts with the first race of the year: the winners (man and woman) travel to compete in the next race with flights, lodging and meals included (restrictions apply). Winners earn points at each race and, at the end of the year, the champions are decided on accumulated points.
